Tell us about a moment in your career that really meant something to you?

Shooting the Prada campaign. Although every time I get asked to shoot for anyone I get so emotional and overjoyed that I’m able to do this for a living.

What two questions would you ask to get the most information about who a person truly is?

Zodiac sign and political party. Mine’s Taurus. Marxist.

Do you have a mission with your art?

World domination.

What is the process like for you when creating?

Mad stressful to be honest but I try to keep it cool.

What is the future for art in your opinion?

I have no idea. I’d rather be surprised than try to predict.

What was your childhood dream job?

Actress.

What was the first thing you ever created and how do you feel about it now?

I used to draw my recurring nightmares as a way to reconcile with them. I still think about them sometimes, quite graphic.

How was your exposure to art growing up?

I’m pretty sure it came with being gay.

Do you have any art in your house now?

Only things from my very close friend, Christian Martin. I have a few pieces of furniture from the Bauhaus era that I consider art as well.

Who were your early influences?

Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sofía Coppola. Both made unabashedly feminine works and were criticized for doing so. I think both influences are apparent in my work now.

Did you assist?

Once. My ego is far too big to ever subject myself to assisting again.

Do you have a secret project?

Nope. Definitely not. I do not nor have ever had a secret project that has to therefore been established. Please do not ask me this ever again.

What artist and their works never tire you?

Phantom of the Opera never tires me.

What harsh truths do you prefer to ignore?

Probably that the world is ending due to overconsumption that I, like everyone else play a part in contributing towards.

Where is the line between art and not art to you?

I think that’s impossible to define.

What should be the goal of humanity?

Be better.

Does art hurt society in any way?

No.

What do you contribute back to society?

What I hope are beautiful images and automatic monthly donations to Amnesty International.

What is the most important goal every person should have?

Buddha said “if I don’t descend into hell, who will?” Everyone should be like Buddha and go to hell, so I don’t have to.

How replaceable are you?

That’s another harsh truth I prefer to ignore.

How do you define consciousness?

I have to exist. So does she.

Are there limits to human creativity?

Yes.

Has social media been positive or negative for our society? Why?

It’s kind of like being forced to run through the street naked. Sometimes I can’t tell which would actually be worse.

What does the fusion of fashion and art mean to you in regard to your work?

Was there ever a difference between the two to begin with?
